NextGen Mentorship

Share one hour.
Shape a career.

NextGen Mentorship gives young women on-demand access to professionals who are ready to share what they know. Mentees come to you with a chosen topic, a clear goal, and prepared materials — so every conversation counts, and you decide when you are available.

Hosted on GWI Connect Monthly orientations You control your availability

Mentorship that respects your calendar

Mentees select a topic before they select a mentor, and you receive the goal and discussion materials in advance. No open-ended commitment, and no guesswork about what to prepare.

Availability on your terms

Switch your mentorship availability on and off in GWI Connect. You are visible to mentees only when you have the time.

Prepared conversations

Every meeting request arrives with a topic, a goal, and a timeframe. Guided discussion materials reach you before the session.

One meeting or many

After each conversation, you and your mentee decide together: continue the topic, pick a new one, or wrap up.

How you get started

Six steps from application to your first conversation. Most mentors are active within a few weeks of orientation.

01

Apply and reserve an orientation

Submit the mentor application and choose one of the monthly live orientation sessions. Your RSVP starts your background check.

02

Attend the live orientation

One 60-minute session covering program goals, how matching works, mentor expectations, and how conversations are managed. Attendance is required to continue, and AI notetakers are not permitted.

03

Clear your background check

GWI completes the check after orientation. Every adult working with our participants is screened.

04

Join GWI Connect

You receive an invitation to our private community platform and set up your member profile.

05

Complete mentorship onboarding

A short self-paced course on the three pillars of mentorship, then the profile fields that help mentees find you: your expertise, your interests, and the kinds of conversations you want to have.

06

Turn your availability on

Mentees message you through GWI Connect with a topic, a goal, and a proposed timeframe. Accept the ones that fit.

What you will talk about

Mentees choose a guided topic — each with its own activities and discussion materials — or bring a goal of their own. You will only see requests that match the expertise on your profile.
