300+ Professionals Step Up for GWI x Percent Pledge Women’s History Month Resume Review
Girls With Impact was proud to partner with Percent Pledge, a global CSR platform that mobilizes companies and employees to give back, for a powerful Women’s History Month Volunteer Event on March 5th, bringing together purpose-driven professionals and the next generation of women leaders.
More than 300 professionals registered for the event, representing at least 15 companies, all united in a shared mission: to support young women on their path to college and career success. Volunteers began by learning about GWI’s mission and the measurable impact of our programs before diving into hands-on mentorship, reviewing resumes submitted by students and providing personalized, actionable feedback.
This volunteer effort was focused on building confidence, sharpening professional skills, and providing clear steps for resume improvement. For many students, it provided a small but impactful moment of mentorship.
“Thank you so much for sharing the detailed feedback… I’ll be sure to incorporate their advice to make my resume more impact- and metrics-driven,” shared Aastha, a GWI participant.
Others echoed similar sentiments. “All of these points have been really insightful, and I will be making edits to my resume,” said Dipika. Michelle reflected on the encouragement she received, sharing, “It let me know I am well on my way; just need some fine-tuning.” Zoe added, “All of this is very helpful,” highlighting the tangible value of direct, expert feedback.
Through this collaboration, students gained exposure to industry professionals who took the time to invest in their growth. At the same time, participating companies were introduced to GWI’s mission to close opportunity gaps and build a more diverse pipeline of future leaders.
“For many of our students, this is the first time someone in a professional role has taken the time to review their work and invest in their growth,” said Program Director McKenna Belury. “That kind of moment matters. It builds confidence, clarifies direction, and helps them take their next step with intention.”
“Our partnerships offer tangible ways for employees to engage with our students and help prepare them to join the workforce and be ready for day one,” said GWI’s Chief Partnerships Officer Shannon King.
We’re deeply grateful to Percent Pledge for featuring GWI as a leading nonprofit advancing women’s leadership and empowerment. Their platform is helping more companies discover meaningful ways to mentor, volunteer, and invest in the next generation.
As we continue working toward our goal of reaching 50,000 young women by 2030, partnerships like this are essential. Together, we’re preparing young women to enter the workforce and ensuring they’re ready to lead.
