At Girls with Impact, we know that Back to School season is going to be very different this year. Some students will be going fully-remote; while others will have a hybrid mode, there’s definitely going to be a learning curve as we all tackle the new dynamics of this very different school year.

To help you out, we created a list of tangible back to school tips to get your year start off on a positive (and organized note!), plus some highlights about Girls With Impact’s incredible after school and weekend programming, offering a dynamic live, online mini-MBA program that will really help you to make an impact in the world.

Back to School Tips for a Great School Year

  1. Set personal goals: Start off the school year on a positive note by establishing personal goals. This could include creating a list of what you want to accomplish this year, such as planning your college admission application, tackling a new hobby, and even starting your own business!

  2. Establish a routine: One of the many challenges of this “new normal” is that all of our  routines are out of whack. Getting back to school will allow you to have set times when you focus on your school work and activities. If you have some flexibility in your day, establish specific hours when you will focus on school work as well as time for virtual meetings with friends and extracurricular activities.

  3. Choose an extra-curricular wisely like our Social Impact and Innovation Academy at Girls with Impact: Our Social Impact and Innovation Academy is creating tomorrow's leaders where girls ages 12-18 become immersed in an interactive, project-based course with their peers from all over the county! Led by experts, students work in groups and learn how to turn their passion into a business! Our flexible program allows girls to take the course at either 5pm or 7pm (during the week) or on 12pm (on Saturday) over the course of 10 weeks. You’ll be amazed at the entrepreneurial skills you’ll gain and what you can create with our guidance!

  4. Take daily tech breaks: While it is incredible that we are connected more than ever, it’s also important to step back and take some time away from your device and computer. If you are a remote learner, take a break with a mini-walk or spend some time outdoors after school.

  5. Read something for fun everyday: Another great way to take a break (when you can) is to read. Try to read something that you enjoy everyday, which can even be your favorite blog or a book you have been dying to read.

  6. Stay positive: We are living in unprecedented times. And while no one knows the course of what life will be like in the future, we do know it is important to stay positive and focused, which cannot only uplift your spirits but those around you.

  7. Stay organized: Staying organized is also important as you tackle new online schedules and activities. Keeping a simple planner or online calendar can work wonders to keep everything you have going on streamlined and in order.

  8. Stay active and exercise: Just as much as your school work is important it is also important to stay active and move your body. There are so many options online now, offering free to low cost workouts, or you can arrange a socially distanced walk or activity with a friend.

Our girls are learning the tools that they need to make an impact in the world! Join us for our next live, online session (Starting on September 14th) where girls ages 12-18 will learn how to turn their passions into a business!. Check out more here!
